11/1/2021: After I made the video for Entry, I wanted to create a more deliberate approach for my next video. I planned a loose narrative, but due to creative disagreements with the artist, we opted to shoot another performance-heavy video. Around the time of shooting this video, I was captivated by the dark urban aesthetics of Martin Scorsese films like Taxi Driver (1976) and After Hours (1985), and I wanted to create a more "filmic" video this time around, with more deliberate framing and lighting. Overall I felt that this was a marked improvement over my first video, with much cleaner and meaningful camera movement and a "less is more" approach to editing and effects.
The entire video was produced by me (with the help of a driver for the car shots and production assistants to help carry equipment from set to set).
